The small congregation which met in March of 1908 called themselves simply “Leavenworth Lutheran Church.” They were a mix of German Lutherans from Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota. In 1907 the Wisconsin Mission Board had answered the request for a pastor by sending Martin Raasch from Nebraska. In 1908 a Ladies’ Aid had been formed and children attended Sunday School.
